Late December in Sandwich

My cousin Diane was in town from Maryland for a week so we met up for breakfast and a walk around Sandwich to shoot pictures.  It was a very quiet Monday morning between Christmas and New Years and a gorgeous day.

The town had some early evening events planned for New Years Eve, or First Night as it's called around here.

Grist Mill

Newcomb Tavern (which I think is either a private home now or a B&B).

Back of Town Hall & the Grist Mill

Newcomb Tavern with the pond tree.

Shawme Pond

Glass Museum

And the "soft glow of electric sex in the window" at the Heart of Stone gift shop.

  1. Nice pix as usual. Interesting buildings. Wish I had the ability to wander around taking photos.

  2. Beautiful photographs :) Not sure what to make of that lampshade though! Definately not one I'd want in my house - I like a bit quirky, but I'm obviously not too quirky LOL! xx

    1. Thanks! I guess you guys have never seen 'A Christmas Story'? It's a classic here....one of the stations plays it for 24 hours straight on Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. That's where the leg lamp comes from. That quote about 'the soft glow of electric sex in the window' is a line from the movie. In fact, I would venture to say that most Americans, upon seeing the word, 'fragile' on the outside of a box or package, will say, 'Fra-JEE-lay....must be Italian'. Also from the movie and was on the box the lamp was in.
