Hangin' With My Girls

As mentioned in a couple of prior posts, Mary was in town from Idaho in mid-August, so I took her to see the nature trails at The Giving Tree Gallery in East Sandwich, as it's new since she left town many years ago.

It's so peaceful.

Mary posing with some cement boobs.

Suspension bridge from the gardens to the marshes.

Glass!

Selfie.  ha ha ha

We had a quick lunch at Marshland Restaurant, then hooked up with Marsha & Susan at Dune 1, Town Neck Beach.  I've never seen the shadow of a contrail on the sky before.

The water was quite chilly.  It was high tide.

Dune 1.  Our friends Sharon (not my cousin), Suzie and Cherie were there too.  It was a very relaxing afternoon.  Those guys were all out in the sun but I used my rainbow umbrella to keep the sun off me and it was very comfortable, esp. with the nice breeze.

Unfortunately the erosion gets worse with each new storm.

I found one super nice piece of beach glass.

And a wee fuzzy caterpillar!

Just a beautiful day on Cape Cod!

  1. Looks like a lovely day. Don't think much of those statues in the first shot, they look like tortured souls. The beaches are eroded by the sea in one place and built up in another. When we had a boat in NC we had to be careful every year because the sandbanks had usually moved.

    1. It's an interesting garden and gallery. Some of the 'art' is a little weird. The storms keep getting worse so the beaches are being eaten away at an alarming rate.

  2. It's another photo day with JoJo, always something interesting to see at your place. Those first few photos look more like wizened old people who realize at a late date that nature is one of the beautiful things in life. We each see different things based on our own tastes.

    1. I'm wracking my brain to remember what those statues were called....it might have been 'the standing garden' or something like that.

  3. JoJo!!! I'm so glad to have found you here and still blogging. I know I disappeared for a long time, but finally returned a few weeks ago. Had weird things happen on my blog while I was gone, like my favorite blogger list disappeared! I can't get my bloglovin to work either. It finally dawned on me to look back at my older posts to find you - what can I say, I'm getting old lol.

So nice to reconnect! Lovely photos as always. I hope all has been well in your world. Pop over when you have a chance :)

    1. I tried looking it up but I couldn't find any specific info on this caterpillar. Some kind of moth I guess.

  7. The nature trail at The Giving Tree Gallery looks so tranquil and pretty. Would be a perfect spot to relax and meditate . . . perhaps even find a lost mojo or two. :)

Cute photo of Mary with the cement boobs . . . guess one could say she really has a hard body. lol

    1. HAHAHA Good one!!! Yes it is very peaceful....unless you are wandering around w/ your best friend like I was and cackling over taking that photo. And the peace of the garden was shattered.
