Miscellaneous Projects

A few months ago I found a pair of old earrings in a junk shop for $2.  The peacock blue crystals are so pretty.  I took the earrings off the backs and made a beaded hairpiece out of one of them.  This is the first time I've ever made this particular style.  Usually I do either round or oval shape. I was pleased with how it came out.

Rainbow beads in a mini bottle.  I had to use a head pin to make them stack evenly, and put the head pin into the cork bottom.

Another rock with a paint dot tree.

And a triple moon rock.

Fall tree

And a heart.  I also made a paisley but it didn't come out that good.

I found the pattern online somewhere and it made me laugh so I made it into a card to send to Axe.

And speaking of cards, my bff Marsha's birthday was this month so I did a beach themed card using an old fashioned linen postcard reproduction with a poem about walking by the seashore.  I added shells, beach glass and some pearl beads to it.

Inside of card.

Finally, this was another pattern from the internet so I did it into a book mark.  I changed the black R and diamonds to the house colour of copper.  Then I stitched it to some stiff felt so that it keeps the shape and hides the stitches.

  1. The blue crystal hairpiece is knockout dead gorgeous. JoJo I don't know how you do it but your craft projects just keep getting better and better.

  3. Love that card for your friend. A seashore theme uses lots of blues, which I like. With all these crafts, are you planning a craft sale outing soon? Otherwise, you may need more display room. . .

    1. I only sign up for a couple of craft fairs, near the holidays. I keep meaning to start up an Art Fire store but I live in such massive fear of rejection that I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I usually end up giving most of my stuff away.

    1. Which card? The Shit Bitch You Is Fine or the beach one? lol I have so many 'craft ideas' photos saved to my hard drive so I'm always trying to work on them. That's why I end up with posts that show several different items.

  6. Hi JoJo, finally catching up on everything - read about a months worth of your posts! Loving the photographs as always :) But those mini potion bottles are just fab! I also have the problem of the glitter sinking - one lot I then dunked in glass paints and they looked great but not how they should of! And you know I love chakras, have been trying to figure out how to make them work in a mini-bottle, hope you don't mind if I nick your idea?

    1. By all means use whatever tips and tricks you see here that work! That headpin works like a charm for bead stacking!!! I had good luck using a viscous gel with the glitter....it's actually an anti-itch gel that I forgot I had in the bathroom and the glitter stays perfectly suspended in it.

  9. Where on earth is Axe nowadays?

I should probably send you all my sitting-in-a-jewelry-box-getting-old-and-unworn jewelry. I'm positive that you'd be able to use them for decorating or something. hehe

    You're really great in crafts!

    1. Axe's laptop died and she's flat broke so she's been only able to use a cell phone to get online. :( I wish we could get her out of South Africa. And I'm happy to take any unwanted jewelry!!! I can always use it!
