Woods Hole, Part 2 and Nobska Light

I spied this tower on the other side of the marina on Eel Pond, when I was on Main Street and I just had to walk around to check it out.  So glad I did! It's a very peaceful garden across the street from the church.

The church across the street, which I believe is called St. Joseph's, had it's doors wide open and was empty so I took a quick snap from the steps.

Statue of Rachel Carson, author of Silent Spring.

I left Woods Hole with about 10 minutes to spare on my meter and drove over to Nobska Light.  That's Martha's Vineyard across the water.  It's much closer to the Cape than Nantucket is.  The ferry ride is about 30 minutes.

One more thing off the local bucket list.

  1. I'm very sorry that I've been unable to keep up. I need a clone!

The really good part is I can come over here and go on those virtual picture tours. That I thank you for.

    A peaceful weekend to you.

  5. I love all the pics you've been taking lately! You've got such a wonderful camera-eye!
I don't know why, but I can't seem to reply to your comment on my blog, so here's my advice for stitching on black fabric - especially black on black!
One of these two - put a white towel on your lap. Makes the holes show up better! OR - use a light box on your lap. You don't have to fork out for the expensive art ones - I have a kid's Crayola Tracing Fun light box. Works perfectly. Soft, dim light under the fabric shows every hole up clear as crystal, and illuminates the black floss, too :D

  9. You live in some truly beautiful and picturesque country and are surrounded by history.

I love the stone work around that old, metal bell tower door, it's fantastic.

For years I've been meaning to read the book "Silent Spring", I'm sure it must be in one of my local libraries by now.
