Lizzie Borden House Redux

Last summer was my first trip to the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River.  Diane & her kids are pretty interested in paranormal stuff and they really wanted to take the tour, so we headed down there after Fort Phoenix.  I already featured pics of the place in my blog posts from last summer HERE, HERE and HERE.  Last year I tried not to shoot with flash but was unhappy with my photos so I pretty much reshot almost everything, but I'm only going to post the highlights from this batch.  Oh yeah, last summer my camera went all wonky and I'd gotten a blinding headache.  This year, my camera defaulted back to the original date of January 1, 2005 and in one room I had a very quick but weird dizzy spell and feeling like I needed to sit down but it passed as quickly as it hit me.  Most of you are my Facebook friends, and the complete set of pics is posted over there.

Replica of Mr. & Mrs. Borden's skulls

And a photo of the actual skulls.

I was very drawn to this picture which appears to have Mother of Pearl inlay.

Mr. B, post whacking.

Andrew Borden

I took a lot of mirror shots.  I didn't see anything otherworldly in any of my pics, unfortunately.

Unless you count Adam & Logan as 'otherworldly'.

Couldn't resist posting this one again.  There is no way you'd ever get me to stay in this place overnight, and especially not in Lizzie's room with this doll in the cabinet.

Pictures of Mr. Borden, and his first wife, holding Lizzie's older sister, Emma.  The first Mrs. Borden died when Lizzie was 2.

Di & the kidz.

I took this pic for Russell and I also got him one of the golf balls, which says, ' keep hacking away'.   He was somewhat amused by it, but I think it creeps him out.

Great stuff!

  1. Great photos, was nice to see inside this home as I have only seen bits of the place on TV and have never toured it.
I actually got a shiver down my spine and goose bumps when I read that you camera defaulted back to the original date.
John and I went to St. Augustine, Florida and were going to take some photos inside of their old, historic Fort but our camera batteries suddenly died and what's really odd is that everyone in the souvenir shop were purchasing camera batteries.
They say that apparitions drain things, such as batteries, when they are trying to materialize.

Those golf balls ARE creepy but not as creepy as that doll. Is that an original or was it added for effect later? Just curious. If that's what she grew up playing with well no wonder she became a psycho!
Great photos. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've always wanted to go there.

  6. That doll is just unnatural - whoever designed her has some serious issues LOL!

  8. Thanks for the pics - I went back and looked at all of them :D I really, REALLY want to go there someday! I wish it wasn't so far from here - I've read every book I can find on her, some are really hard to get so I've not read them all. I end up creeping myself out all the time! Weird experiences you've had, too!
