Ma Nature put on another great show for us in September! This was a tiny sliver of rainbow showing through the trees. It did not continue up in the sky at all...it really was just this piece.

If you want to see a rare phenomena called Cloud Irridescence, look for sunsets with conditions like these and that's your best chance.
They were popping up all over.

WOW! I always love seeing the various patterns of clouds even when I was a kid. Ominous and sometimes scary but nonetheless beautiful. Did you ever go outside when the clouds cast an eerie orange glow on everything? Spooky!

ReplyDeleteThe photos of the unusual cloud formations over Mt. Rainier are spectacular. I've seen pictures of such clouds before but have never been fortunate enough to see them in person. They almost look extra-terrestrial. :) Not that I believe in ET, but then who knows, our galaxy is a very big place and the universe even more so.
Now, back to the skies - I find the sky a wonderful model as it is always changing and often surprises me with its rainbows, odd cloud formations, its sunrises and sunsets, and with its dynamic storms and lightening displays (talk about 4th of July fireworks). I've enjoyed viewing your photos very much.

Wow1 How good are you ? great shots. The first photo is a bit like one's I was taking on holiday ,the new headline photo on my blog was my favourite one.
