I Lurve Scusset Beach

On Sunday at the end of August, I determined when low tide would be, and headed on over to Scusset to walk around.  I knew that my beach glass luck would be very bad, because it's a very, very popular place.  Still, I found 2 small green pieces and one tiny blue piece.

Sandbars are one of my fave things in the world.

Minnows.

The water was as delicious as it looks.

It's hard to see the star shaped sparkles, so I recommend clicking on it to make it bigger.  I was so excited to have achieved this effect!!!  I knew how to do it with film, but I hadn't had any luck with digital till today.

This is called Paramotoring.  It flew over headed east over the Canal and then came back.  One of my friends was at Town Neck in Sandwich and she shot about 3 different paramotorists over there as well.

This exhausted pooch was in the Zen zone.  Wet and exhausted from swimming, he was soakin' up the rays on the warm sand bar.

Meanwhile his pal decided to have a roll.

Teeny tiny clam shells.  The smallest ones are only as big as my pinky fingernail.

Here they come, back overhead.

I had titled this 'It Came From The Deep' but clearly I'd just splashed out of the tidal pool.

Wicked crowded!!!

I also found a transparent brown shell.  I thought it was brown glass but it's not. It was flexible when I found it but has become brittle now that it's dried out.  As usual, I took to Facebook to help solve this mystery.  My friend Lisa told me it is an operculum, which was verified by my squeeze.  That's the 'door' that a shelled animal, like a snail, closes when it's inside, to keep itself from drying out.

I admit, I'm totally jealous right now!! I haven't been able to go to the beach since my surgery and it's slowly getting colder out. The dogs are priceless - can't wait to get back with mine...and your water is so clear!!!

No plans for the beach glass, Baygirl32. It goes into my permanent collection, never to be parted with or used for crafts.
