Railroad Bridge from the Cape Side

March started off pretty raw and wet, but 5 days in, the sun finally came back out, although it was still pretty cold and windy.  I drove over to the Cape to take pics of the railroad bridge from that side.

I've been told these are common eider ducks.  I have never seen them before.

U.S. Army Corp of Engineers tugboat, Manamet.

I was really hoping a train would come by but alas, one did not.

Looking across at Mass Maritime and a whole lotta eider ducks.

  1. I love bridge shots. They're so impressive. The colour of the sky that day was gorgeous.

Beautiful - it makes me feel like spring has sprung; even if we don't move our clocks 'forward into spring' here until NEXT weekend.

  3. I'd love to see an eider duck! I believe they make the most wonderful un-ducklike rather haunting mewing sound.

  6. Great photos! I've never had a chance to post about my boy's Science Fair project this year (they took an Honorable Mention) - it was bridge trusses!
(We loaded up their popsicle-stick models to a maximum of 28 lbs & none of 'em broke)
