Indian Summer at the Beach and "Cape Light"

Scusset Beach, October 3, 2011

Fall on the Cape means quiet beaches and a beautiful, soft light called Cape Light.  Artists and photographers attempt to capture this beautiful autumn weather.

Herman the Hermit Crab.  He was moving around a little but Pepper was curious and he pulled himself inside to hide.  She's lucky he didn't pinch her nose!

When I looked out at these clouds, the first thing that I thought of was, "Wow! The Olympic Mountains are so snowy already!"  Old habits die hard.

The cottages are at Sagamore Beach, next to Scusset.

My footprints, and that of a seagull's as well.

Each wet pebble a jewel in its own right.

I built this on a large log.

Next to the breakwater.  The entrance to the Canal is on the other side.

Not quite 5pm here, and pitch dark, so these made me feel much better :0)

  5. Love the sand patterns... ooooooh aaaaaah!

Also the little rock snowman... or snow woman. Cool.

It would be really grand to see your spectacular photos published in some kind of coffee table book form. You have a really great eye my friend.

  8. I love beach photos. The sand patterns are really cool. They look like tree branches and the foot prints are near perfect. I love the fence shot too. It's worthy of blowing up and framing.
