This is some kind of crazy cedar tree. I've never seen them anywhere else but in Victoria and Vancouver Island.

ReplyDeleteI think you are right about the bins being "inviting" - we used to have bins in the local shopping centre that were shaped like big animal heads, and kids loved to chuck things into the mouths. Then the mouths had to be sealed with concrete because of the risk of bombs during the IRA bomb campaigns. Evenutally, when the palce was modernised a few years back, they replaced them with modern cylinder-shaped things that are often ignored.

ReplyDeleteNantz, I didn't use the vinegar and salt, although it was available to me on the table. I have eaten it that way but I wanted to do the tartar sauce thing this time.
I just love vinegar...there used to be a chain of places called "Arthur Treacher's" that sold fish and chips and I remember their malt vinegar they had. Also, our amusement park here, "Kennywood Park," had these garbage cans that were "kid-friendly" in that they were painted like various animals and they would suck the items you were throwing away right out of your hands!

Wow! Looks like you're having a fantastic time. Definitely makes me want to visit Victoria. We tried to go several years back but our float plane got fogged in in Seattle.
