It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!

Had to share this pic that Susan sent me yesterday, and which was also on the I Can Has Cheezburger site yesterday.I have been having a bit of a toothache in a lower left molar, so I have to go to the dentist tomorrow at 8 am for xrays. This tooth already has a filling in it, which was done in about 1980. Therefore, root canal or re-filling it is not an option. If I truly have a cavity or abscess, I'm going to have it pulled. I don't have the money for anything more invasive. In any event I'm hoping to get some decent pain meds. Still though, the dentist at 8 am on a Saturday is a real bummer, but I have to get it taken care of. I'm hoping they don't decide to pull it tomorrow too, b/c I won't be able to drive myself home after undergoing the nitrous oxide that is necessary to keep me from freaking out at having a tooth pulled.
Have a great weekend!

  1. Frankly,I'm a fan of Oxycodone. The other meds from the dentist make me sick.I have a back molar that was filled two years ago.Doc told me that inevitably (years from now) it would have to be pulled or I would have to have a root canal.

Sorry for your toothache Jojo. That pain is worse than just about any pain.

  2. I think everyone can identify with being petrified of having a tooth extracted. Tylenol w/codeine DOES NOT work for me. Motrin 800 does real well -- damn near knocks me out! Nitrous oxide does a number on me. It makes me giddy as all get out. I'm real sorry that you don't feel well. I'd rather have a baby rather than have a toothache.

I take it that your husband won't be able to go with you?

    P. S. Lower NY is being SOCKED w/ another snow storm -- 2-3 feet. Yahoo!!!!! Cheers Jo!!

  3. Bryde - I've never tried Oxycodone. Vicodin doesn't work and I get hallucinations w/ Tylenol Codeine.

bobby - Well, as you know I'm a Deadhead, so nitrous oxide was used recreationally by Deadheads at shows. There were always a few people in the parking lot who had a nitrous tank and would fill up balloons which we'd buy and inhale from. Ah the early 90's, how I miss them so. lol

  4. I can empathize. I hate going to the dentist. I have a horrible fear of the them even though, they do give me good drugs for the pain. I am fortunately able to tolerate most pain medications. Even then it still scares me.

And I LOVE that photo of that cat. It looks like my Leaper. :-) He would definitely be annoyed if I tried to dress him. He doesn't even like his collar. lol

  8. I have a cracked tooth. My options are either extraction, crown or root canal. Since we have no dental insurance, extraction is my only option as it's cheapest. I was given a script for Vicoprofen. I was afraid to state my preference in case they thought I was a junkie looking for specific pain meds.

  10. Sorry to hear that, JoJo. I'm hoping my teeth (crowns and all) will last me out.

  12. Today my mom offered to pay for me to get the tooth crowned so that I don't have to lose it, but while I appreciate the offer, there is NO WAY that I am undergoing multiple appointments. I have an extremely low threshold for pain so I want it taken out in ONE visit. It's just a molar. If it was one of my front teeth I'd consider it.
