Funky Firetruck

E. Pierce Fire & Rescue came thru our neighborhood tonite, sirens wailing and lights flashing, for their annual canned food drive. Unfortunately we did not know they were doing this today so we thought the block was burning down. The main engine went by, with a bunch of firefighters on foot behind them. Then the ambulance was next, and another vehicle that was towing a small trailer w/ Santa on it, then a couple more vehicles. So I decided to take advantage of an open camera shutter and a light show.

These look like G Clefs on their backs.

  5. WR - From Dictionary.com:

"Food drive: A campaign to collect foodstuffs for charity distribution

Example: Tons of food were collected in the food drives for victims of the hurricane."

So the firemen on foot were hoping people would come out of their homes to donate food. Which would have been fine had they done it in the afternoon when it was still light. But they showed up at dinner time in the pitch dark. I didn't want to risk life and limb navigating down my steep, mossy, wet pine needle covered driveway in the dark.

  6. Wow, they really do look like treble clefs, don't they? They couldn't have done it if they'd tried!

  7. Val - I remember I was moving the camera in little loops and I was really surprised to see the result.
