What is it?

A young girl took this picture in Winthrop, which is in the north-central Cascades. The story is below. Allegedly she was just experimenting with her new digital camera and caught this image. For once, I don't think it's Sasquatch. To tell you the truth, and maybe this is because of my Catholic roots or because my brain wants to make a recognizable pattern, it really looks like the Virgin Mary, or some shrouded woman. Personally, I think it's the girl's friend. What do you think?
"SEATTLE -- A picture taken by a 12-year-old Kirkland girl during the holiday week in December surprised her family by capturing a mysterious object.

The girl, her family and her 15-year-old friend were staying at cabins overlooking a river in Winthrop when the incident occurred.

At sunset, the girl was experimenting with a new digital camera she had received as a gift.

The girl and her 15-year-old friend took pictures of each other, snow on the trees and snowflakes at night. At one point, they saw an object moving and tried to capture it on camera.
When they saw the picture on the camera's screen -- a mysterious object depicted in the photo, surrounded by darkness -- they ran inside to the cabin. The 12-year-old girl showed the picture to her father, who then passed the image on to KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Gary Horcher. "

  1. Hey, if clouds can look like sheep, I'm sure mist or smoke can look like the church's depiction of Mary. Which is probably nothing like she ever actually looked anyway!

  2. My dad used to be a photographer, he took pictures once at a wedding sometimes in the early 80s, and when he revealed the photos, he found some very strange silhouettes in a couple of them.
I don't really know what to say about this, I guess it's just one of those mysteries...

  4. A grilled cheese sandwich with Jesus or Mary's face in the toasted bread sold for like $10,000 on ebay a few years ago.

  5. Jojo, that crazy cheese sandwich lady sold it for thousands and THEN had it tattooed on her boob. And I saw it done on Miami Ink...blech!

Here is an article on it.That tattoo cost almost $1,000!If Miami Ink is THAT much I would take my business elsewhere.

  6. I'm thinking it is some mist coming off the river. I've often seen mist like this coming up from the river around here. Or it's the Virgin Mary letting us all know she's still hangin' out :)

  7. Wasn't there a potato or something once that looked like Mother Teresa?

I've often seen carrots that look like dicks. A lot of men who do, too...

yep, even to my heathen eyes, that looks like Mary...still, with all of the software out there, there's absolutely nothing that you can't do to manipulate a picture.
