Girl's Day

A couple of weeks before the trip, I was joking with Casi that we should get tattoos while I was there and she thought it was an awesome idea.  So did her mom Tina, who set up the appointment for the 3 of us.  Val and grampa were recruited to sit for the boys.  As a side note, Val didn't mind at all.  She isn't into ink, and she wanted to spend as much time with the kids as possible.  I wanted that for Russell as well.

Tina works with a woman whose husband is an artist at Krazy Katz Tattoo, in West Carrollton.  Because we were getting simple designs, he was able to accommodate all of us at 1:00 p.m.

This cracked me up.

Ta-da!!!!  Been wanting a Deathly Hallows for awhile now.  This didn't hurt much at all.  I've had worse sunburns.

Casi & Tina got matching infinity hearts

This is one of my fave pics.

Then lunch at El Rancho Grande which was soooo good.  I had the taco salad in an edible bowl.

Tina drove me around Franklin so that I could take pics.  I can't wait to go back and spend more time walking around and shooting.

This is 'the UFO house'.  It consists of two Futuro houses joined together.  I don't know if anyone lives in them, but I assume so since there's a satelite dish.  There is a quonset hut and also a pool.

I could shoot tons of pics in that area.

The murals are brilliant.  Whoever did them is a master at Trompe-l'oeil.

I was taking a pic of the old cars and I thought that was a real diner.  I did a double take and had to reshoot it including the diner.

I mean seriously.  Wow!

I think this is Franklin's first post office.

And what girl's day would be complete without some retail therapy?  I'd never been in a Meijer's before.  It's similar to Walmart.  But they have a ton of cool stuff.  We shopped for over two hours, mostly for summer clothes for the boys.  Tina bought me a Deathly Hallows mug and I got a cool Harry Potter picture of Sirius Black's Azkaban number.

THE Ohio State University.  I get a kick out of that.

Another amazing mural.

We got back close to 7, waited for Jeff to get home, packed up the kids and went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner where a good time was had by all.

The obligatory group pic

My loves.

    1. It's so fun to hang out with your girlfriends isn't it? And when the boys grow up we can tell them how Mom, Gram & Nonna all got tattoos together!
